It started as holiday gift.
It started with a holiday gift idea…plain white Vans and my kids. One who was playing travel hockey and the other, in love with The Lion King. What followed turned into commissions for friends, then friends of friends, then strangers who found the work online, and now athletes and celebs alike.
Every pair that leaves this shop still gets that same kitchen-table attention: sketched by hand, mixed by hand, painted by hand — no shortcuts, no printers, no two exactly alike. Creations by Dad is built around family and growing one custom order at a time.
The name says it plainly: this started as something a dad made for his kids. It still is — it just fits a lot more people now.

FAQ
How does a custom order work? +
Submit the order request form or a DM on Instagram with your desire, inspiration, and shoe size. From there, we communicate to talk about level of design, pricing and timing — a deposit is required to order sneakers and do a mockup of the design — we keep it to one round of revisions if needed and once approved, I go into paint mode.
What's the turnaround time? +
There are times I may be busier during the year, but I am always upfront on the turnaround time given current jobs. If a job needs to be rushed, there may be a rush fee added, but is informed upfront.
What do custom pairs cost? +
Pricing depends on the shoe, the amount of detail, and materials — every project is quoted individually. Price does include the sneaker when quoted. Shipping is additional and receipt + tracking is provided to show actual shipping cost which is due with the final sneaker balance.
Do I send my own shoes, or do you provide them? +
I look to get the sneaker and do include in the quote as mentioned. Sneakers should always be new and not worn prior to ensure the best paint adhesion and canvas to paint on.
Can these be worn? +
Yes! These are made to be worn. Like any sneaker though, wear and tear happens, the paint is strong enough to last if taken care of by you. Scratches to the sneaker might damage the paint, so be aware when you do wear. They are sent with a weather resistant spray which you too can also place on every couple weeks.
Do you ship, and do you work with brands/businesses? +
Yes — pairs ship anywhere, and brand or business commissions are welcome. Reach out through the contact section with project details!
